The Guinness World Record (GWR) for the longest singing marathon (person) has been invalidated from her second attempt, according to Ghanaian journalist and tourist advocate Afua Asantewaa Aduonum.
In a press statement published on Thursday, May 8, 2025, Afua publicly admitted that her most recent attempt had been “unsuccessful.” She also provided some of the correspondence she got from the Guinness World Records team explaining why her second voyage was not verified.
Afua was extremely appreciative of the experience despite the setback, stating that taking on the singing marathon challenge twice has greatly aided her growth both personally and professionally.
“This journey has led to discovery, growth, success, and development that have shaped my being,” she shared in the statement.
