In response to the rebellious tone of two Ghanaian family television programs, political analyst Okatakyie Afrifa has voiced his disapproval.
At his live YouTube show, “For The Records,” Okatakyie Afrifa expressed his worries, saying that Asante women may have trouble finding spouses if men believe they are unable to take care of the home based only on the show’s representation.

He suggested that if these TV and radio shows continue, Asante women may suffer a similar fate to how certain communities are wrongfully branded as “witch towns” because of previous media representations.
“We need to take action to control these shows before it’s too late,” he said.
