Former Ghanaian footballer and certified youth coach Noble Kofi Avettey has been appointed by IDSoccer Greece to help identify talented footballers from Ghana and across Africa for opportunities in European football.
Avettey’s playing career ended prematurely due to a knee injury. However, his passion for football remained strong. He later became a certified youth coach and has since worked in player development, scouting and talent identification. He is also a member of the Africa Coaches and Scouts Association.
Having previously worked with as a sports analyst, Avettey has built a strong professional relationship with the organisation. He will now serve as a key contact for identifying promising African players with the potential to succeed in Europe.
The three-year Work & Play Football Program offers selected players an opportunity to join a registered football club in Greece, play official league matches, legally work and earn an income, while receiving support with football development, residence, employment and player welfare.
Players interested in the opportunity must be at least 18 years old, actively playing registered competitive football and able to provide:
• Football CV
• Recent full-match footage
• Documented playing history
• Other relevant football records for assessment
Speaking about the appointment, Avettey said:
“Although my playing career ended because of a knee injury, my love for football has never ended. I am honoured that IDSoccer Greece has placed its confidence in me after years of working together. My mission is to identify talented footballers from Ghana and across Africa and help connect them with genuine opportunities to develop their careers in Europe.”
The initiative aims to create a credible pathway for talented African footballers seeking opportunities to showcase their abilities and develop their careers in Europe.
