Hon. Edem Agbana Launches Second Edition of Scholarship Program to Transform Lives
Hon. Eric Edem Agbana, Member of Parliament for Ketu North, has officially launched the 2nd Edition of The Ketu North Scholar program, aimed at empowering young people through access to higher education.
Speaking at the event, Hon. Agbana emphasized that the initiative is driven by a personal commitment rather than political interest.
Since its inception, the program has awarded scholarships to hundreds of students across Ghana, with the maiden edition supporting 421 students. “Each of those 421 represents a family’s hope, a community’s pride, and a nation’s future,” he said.
This year’s theme, “Empowering Ketu North through Access to Higher Education,” underlines the belief that sustainable development starts with education.
Hon. Agbana encouraged scholars to view the scholarship as a baton in a relay race, urging them to pursue excellence, humility, and service.
Parents, donors, and community members were recognized for their support, with the MP stressing that their investment is an investment in the region’s future.
The program aims to expand in scope, reaching more students and covering a wider range of disciplines.
Hon. Agbana concluded by urging scholars to use education as a tool for liberation and to carry the name of Ketu North with pride wherever they go.
