Award-winning Ghanaian rapper M.anifest has praised the creativity of content creators on TikTok, particularly those from Kumasi, describing the platform as an important space for promoting Ghanaian culture and discovering new talent.
Speaking in an interview with Kafui Dey, the rapper said he enjoys spending time on the platform because of the originality and humour of the content produced by Kumasi-based creators.
“I love TikTok. Kumasi TikTok just dey jorm me,” he said. According to M.anifest, the platform is filled with creative individuals producing entertaining skits while also promoting Ghanaian languages to a global audience.
“It is fascinating to scroll through and see what is going on there. They are very creative people, doing all sorts of skits and also pushing our Ghanaian language out there,” he stated.
He further noted that TikTok has transformed opportunities for musicians by allowing emerging artistes to gain widespread attention without relying on traditional promotional channels.
“TikTok can become an equaliser, and you can go viral as an artiste using the platform. The algorithm is crazy,” he said.
M.anifest said the platform has become a powerful tool for creativity, cultural expression and music promotion, giving both established and upcoming artistes an opportunity to reach wider audiences.
