The founder of Angels Credit Limited, a multi-subsidiary investment corporation, Mr. Armah-Quaye, talked candidly about his fortune in an interview with prominent media personality Bola Ray.
In order to make ends meet, he claimed to have worked as a kitchen porter in the UK, cleaning over 5,000 dishes per day.
Bills Microcredit owner Richard Nii-Armah Quaye also claimed to have sold local gin, sometimes known as Akpeteshie, in James Town, Accra, prior to moving overseas to hustle.
Social media and mainstream media were buzzing with discussion on the Ghanaian business magnate’s assertions.
In response, attorney Maurice Ampaw claimed that the young entrepreneur had misrepresented the source of his fortune.
Lawyer Ampaw said:
“Life begins at 40, but if God has blessed you, and life begins at 20 for you, when you were struggling with your wife, some of us were aware. So, it’s not true that he washed 5,000 plates.
I don’t want to go there. Don’t talk about those things. Where you make your money from, we know; some of us know,”
