Soul also appeared in several British television programs, including “Holby City”, “Little Britain”, and “Lewis.” He was known for his roles in Here Come The Brides, Magnum Force, The Yellow Rose, and Salem's Lot. Soul scored a U.S. chart-topping hit in 1977 with “Don't Give Up on Us” and his song “Silver Lady” was No. 1 in the United Kingdom. Soul suffered from cancer and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease in recent years but never lost his sense of humor.

Richard W. Solberg and June Solberg are the parents of David Soul. His mother taught, but his father served as a Lutheran preacher, a professor of political science and history, and the director of higher education for the Lutheran Church in America, which is now a member of the ELCA.

David Soul Wife

David Soul had five marriages. In 1964, he wed the actress Mirriam Solberg for the first time. Their union lasted barely a year. 1965 saw their separation or divorce. Actress Karen Carlson and Soul were wed in 1968 and divorced in 1977. Soul wed Patti Carnel Sherman in 1980. After beating her when she was seven months pregnant, Soul was put in jail. After a brief reunion, they filed for divorce.

Soul wed the actress Julia Nickson in 1987. 1993 saw their separation and divorce. In June 2010, the late actor wed Helen Snell, his fifth wife. They remained partners till his passing in January 2024.

David Soul was married five times and has a daughter named, China Soul, and five sons; Christopher Soul, Brendan Soul, Tyler Soul, and Jon Soul.
