Derrick White, born on July 2, 1994 in Parker, Colorado, is an American professional basketball player for the San Antonio Spurs. He attended Legend High School and played for four years before becoming a key player at Colorado State University. White averaged 7.6 points, 2.2 rebounds, and 1.9 assists per game in his freshman, sophomore, junior, and senior seasons.
He finished his college career with 1,926 points, 333 rebounds, and 305 assists, making him the second-leading scorer in Colorado State University history. White was selected 29th overall in the 2017 NBA draft and was named to the NBA All-Defensive Second Team in 2019. White was one of 60 prospects invited to the 2017 NBA Draft Combine. He was one of 15 top-150 prospects in high school and did not sign with Division I programs out of high school.
He was drafted by the San Antonio Spurs with the 29th pick and made his NBA debut in October 2017. He scored career-highs in the NBA and playoffs, but suffered a fractured right wrist. In 2022, White was traded to the Boston Celtics and started the 2022-23 season as a starter.
