Tate McRae is a Canadian artist known for her roles as a singer, songwriter, dancer, and actress. She gained fame at thirteen when she became the first Canadian finalist on the American reality TV show “So You Think You Can Dance.” Tate’s early years were influenced by her father’s work and her mother’s dance lessons in Oman. She attended The American International School Muscat while in Oman and began formal dance training at the age of six.

Tate’s passion for dance led her to become a voice actress for the Lalaloopsy franchise, voicing Spot Splatter Splash. In 2016, she placed third on the thirteenth season of “So You Think You Can Dance.”

In addition to her dance career, Tate also ventured into music. Her YouTube channel showcased a consistent stream of dance videos, but her “Create With Tate” series gained attention with her 2017 song “One Day,” which went viral and earned a gold certification in Canada.

Tate signed with RCA Records in August 2019, and her debut extended play (EP) was released in 2020, followed by the successful single “You Broke Me First.” In 2021, Tate became the youngest musician to be featured on Forbes’ 30 Under 30 list. Her second EP, “Too Young to Be Sad,” became the most streamed female EP of 2021 on Spotify.

Tate’s debut studio album, “I Used to Think I Could Fly,” debuted at number 13 on the US Billboard 200 and received favorable critical acclaim. In 2023, her single “Greedy” reached number three on the Billboard Hot 100, setting the stage for her second studio album, “Think Later.”
