A good name is better than riches – Stonebwoy on legacy and impact

Ghanaian artist Stonebwoy has claimed that, beyond fame and prizes, his ultimate objective is to leave a lasting legacy.
In an interview with AfroVibes in New York, he emphasized that his goal is to leave an enduring legacy.
“A good name is better than riches! That doesn’t mean riches are not good, but it’s just better to have a good name as well,” he shared.
Stonebwoy commented on how legends like Bob Marley continue to affect the globe through their families and the names they created.
“Look at Bob Marley—he has been gone physically for years, but his kids and grandkids are pushing the Marley name like never before. That’s what I want to leave behind.
“When the physical representation is not here, another body can assume that name and run it,” he explained.
He also spoke about how his music serves as a source of encouragement to others.
“People tell me, ‘Bro, I used your love song to get a girl yesterday!’ And I say, good for you. Others say, ‘Because of your song, I didn’t give up.’
“That’s what it’s about—humanitarian service. Whether big or small, I just want to continue making a global impact through my music,” he added.
Stonebwoy emphasized that he is committed to using his platform to promote unity, inspire people, and give back to society through charity.
“Anybody who has ever used music to cause division is long gone. Music is supposed to bring people together, and that’s what I’ll continue doing,” he concluded.
