“Akwaboah Gave Me Only 200 Cedis For MCing His Father’s Funeral” – DJ KA
Kumasi-based media personality DJ KA has made a shocking revelation in a recent interview regarding one of Ghana’s best vocalists and songwriters, Akwaboah.
In the interview, DJ KA revealed that after Akwaboah’s death and it was time for the funeral, he was phoned by Akwaboah that he has heard he is one of the big names in the Ashanti Region and since his father’s funeral will be held in the Golden City, would like for him to be the official MC.
According to DJ KA, he didn’t hesitate, he rode off where Akwaboahh was lodging after work so that they could have a proper talk. He (DJ KA) was asked how much he would charge for his service, but refused to mention a definite amount.
He told Akwaboah he would be grateful for any amount given.
However, after meeting with Akwaboah, when leaving, Akwaboah’s aide gave him 200 cedis as appreciation for passing through the house.
The D-day was up, and the Mc Mced for two days, even though he had received messages from family members, he ignored because Akwaboah asked him to just do his work.
DJ Ka, in the same interview, revealed that after the furela, he didn’t hear from Akwaboah concerning his payment but didn’t have any intentions of tracing the payment; however, it was his mom’s birthday, and he needed Akwaboah to make a video appreciating his mom for him, but all led to no avail, and that got him pissed to write a message pouring out his anger to Akwaboah.
