The New Democratic Congress (NDC) and President John Dramani Mahama’s ardent supporter, Appiah Stadium, has provided an explanation for his recent altercation with certain military men.
The NDC supporter stated in an interview with RTV Ghana, a TV station headquartered in Kumasi, that the event took place during Lieutenant General Arnold Quainoo’s memorial service in Accra.
He said he went to President John Dramani Mahama’s car to say hello and let him know he was in town since, since taking office on January 7, 2025, he had become unreachable and tightly guarded by security.
In the wake of the event, several bloggers disseminated outlandish accusations that he would jeopardize the President’s life, according to Appiah Stadium.

Some of his outrageous public acts prior to the 2015 elections, the NDC supporter said, were a manifestation of his love for President Mahama and part of the directives he got from the god to secure his party’s electoral victory.
As a result of his efforts, he said, the president has gained the favor of many Ashanti Region residents, including traditional chiefs who did not like him during his previous tenure.
He once took a plane from Accra to Kumasi to attend the memorial ceremony for his late mother, which led Appiah Stadium to wonder why anybody would assume he had bad intentions toward President John Mahama.
After that, he knelt down and expressed regret to the administration’s Director of Security Operations, Nathan Kofi Boakye, and the military officers for publicly violating their security procedures.
Critics should cease calling for him to be denied access to the president at public events, he suggested. While he denied that he would consider spending every day with President John Mahama, he felt compelled to remind the president of him and his contributions to his party’s election success.
