Ohemaa Mercy has opened up about the unexpected growth of her gospel ministry, revealing that she never imagined God would take her to the level she has reached today.
The gospel musician recalled receiving a vision about her future in music but said she initially understood it to mean simply moving from singing in church to becoming a recognised gospel artiste.
“I didn’t know that God was going to use me massively like this. I’m going to stand in front of a lot of people,” she said in an interview with Nikki Samonas on Joy Prime.
According to Ohemaa Mercy, her first major performance was an emotional experience. She described feeling shocked, anxious and overwhelmed as she watched the vision she had received gradually become reality.
She also recounted receiving an award from former President John Agyekum Kufuor and visiting the Castle as significant moments in her journey. She said those experiences moved her to tears as she reflected on how far God had brought her.
“I cried throughout, but I believe that God has something to do with it. It hasn’t even started, but I’m still going through that kind of testimony season and it has not stopped,” she said.
Ohemaa Mercy credited her growth and continued progress to prayer, consistency and maintaining a strong relationship with God.
She explained that prayer remains an important part of her decision-making process, noting that she regularly seeks God’s direction before embarking on major programmes and projects.
For Ohemaa Mercy, the journey so far represents a testimony that continues to unfold, with her convinced that there is still more ahead in her ministry.
