D-Black Names His Top Contenders For This Year’s Artiste Of The Year
Rapper D-Black has shared his top picks for this year’s Telecel Ghana Music Awards Artiste of the Year.
D-Black claims that King Promise, King Paluta, and Stonebwoy are the three artists who most impress him among the candidates.
He gave reasons why each of the three may win the prize, emphasizing their respective strengths in the previous year’s performances, even if he declined to choose a single winner.
He said:
I think they’ve all touched different [strongholds]. I mean, look at [King] Paluta, someone who came from zero; he has about three big songs, and he is penetrating the local market heavily. He doesn’t have as much international presence as the rest.
Now Stonebwoy has kept his momentum from winning last year; he has an album, he’s on tour currently, and he has more international exposure than any other Ghanaian artist has right now. He also has that under his belt.
[King] Promise is also coming from almost winning last year and working just as hard as he did last year, and he’s on tour now internationally, and he has big songs already.
