Veteran Nollywood actor Pete Edochie has warned men against getting into marriages where they become dependent on their wives for food, saying such a situation could become unbearable for a man.
Speaking on content creator Bae U Barbie’s podcast, Curiosity Made Me Ask, Edochie said men should not pray to reach a point where their wives have to feed them.
“Don’t pray for your wife to feed you. If you get into such a situation, you’d like to take poison and die,” he said.
Edochie’s comments focused on the importance he places on a man being able to provide for himself within a marriage. He suggested that financial dependence on a wife could affect a man deeply.
The veteran actor also connected the issue to his broader view of marriage and family leadership, arguing that men should be mindful of the position they take in a relationship.
“I will not take it back,” Edochie said, maintaining his position on the issue.
