Ghana has been selected to host the 70th Session of the United Nations Tourism Commission for Africa (CAF) in 2027.
The decision was taken at the 69th CAF meeting held in Seychelles, where Ghana successfully secured the hosting rights for the landmark event.
The conference is expected to bring together tourism ministers, policymakers and industry stakeholders from across Africa.
The event will also coincide with Ghana’s 70th Independence Anniversary, creating a platform to showcase the country’s cultural heritage, creative arts, hospitality and tourism attractions.
The Minister for Tourism, Culture and Creative Arts, Abla Dzifa Gomashie, presented Ghana’s bid and underscored the country’s commitment to using tourism as a tool for sustainable development and economic transformation.
She said the hosting of CAF 2027 will further position Ghana as a key destination for heritage and diaspora tourism and strengthen its engagement within the global tourism space.
