Rapper Joey B has paid glowing tribute to Shaker, the musician he credits for helping launch his career.
The Tonga himaker said Shaker played a major role in his development and remains one of the most important people in his journey.
“I owe it all to God, but God used him,” Joey B said on 3Music TV.
He even joked that if he suddenly became a millionaire, Shaker would be among the first people he would reward.
“If you give me one million dollars right now, I’ll definitely give him at least one hundred thousand,” he said.
Joey B recalled meeting Shaker while attending Accra High School after being asked to freestyle in front of him.
“He told me to freestyle. I did, and he said, ‘Take my number.’ That was it,” he recounted.
Years later, the two remain close friends.
“Every silent accolade I get, I call him and tell him I owe it to him,” Joey B added.
