Hiding pain doesn’t make you stronger – Samini

Samini has opened up about a personal health struggle he kept hidden for ten years.

The veteran artist revealed that he lived with a painful hernia for a decade without telling anyone, not even his close friends.

“I hadn’t spoken to a single person about it,” he said this on the Health Quarters podcast.

“When you’re a public figure and a people’s person, you feel like you just want to keep it to yourself. Things about you easily go out there.”

Samini explained that being in the public eye often comes with pressure to appear strong, confident, and energetic, even when facing health challenges.

“Your fans expect energy, confidence, and joy,” he said.

“But they rarely see the weak moments. We sometimes forget that vulnerability doesn’t mean weakness.”

He said he decided to share his experience now to encourage open conversations about both physical and mental health in the entertainment industry.

According to Samini, many celebrities hide their struggles because they fear gossip or judgment, which only makes their situation worse.

He urged his colleagues to take their health seriously and to seek help when necessary.

“Don’t wait for it to get worse,” he said. “We all have limits, and hiding pain doesn’t make you stronger.
