Gyedu-Blay Ambolley, an experienced musician in Ghana’s highlife genre, has stated that he will not work with any young singer whose musical ability is inferior to his own.
He contends that the majority of today’s new artists follow poor standards instead of following the correct road when it comes to using the ingredients to create fantastic songs, which renders them useless in the music business.
Gyedu Blay Ambolley revealed that the majority of the young performers wanted to work with him but were rejected due to his allegedly substandard standards in an interview with Graphic Showbiz that GhanaWeb saw.
Although many of them (new musicians) want to collaborate with me, they fall short of my standards.
And I apologize, but I won’t work with you if you aren’t capable of doing that.
“Some of the younger people have approached me multiple times, wanting me to support their music, but I have declined since the material I put my name on needs to be genuine music.
Most of them are producing what I refer to as sharp, sharp’ music, which has a very limited shelf life, he claimed, as reported by Graphiconline.com.
In order to work with a young artist, the seasoned musician said he wouldn’t ask for payment since he values quality and the song’s potential effect.
“I’m not considering the cash. I won’t declare that I will charge them and complete the task since they are wealthy.
