According to Ghanaian artist Gyakie, she felt uneasy at school because of the pressure she was under from her teachers.
Gyakie, who attended Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) to study business administration, disclosed that juggling her studies with her singing career sometimes left her feeling anxious and worried.
“Because certain lecturers are aware that I am a singer, they occasionally ask me questions that I am not prepared to respond to, which makes attending class a little awkward.
I’m occasionally asked questions that I have no idea how to respond to.”
“Also, in terms of how I dress as a student, I sometimes become paranoid because I don’t feel comfortable in the prescribed dress given to the business student. There are times I go to lectures, and people would request pictures.
Times I don’t feel good about myself,” she said.
