Legendary Nigerian actor Pete Edochie says he is grateful for how his life has turned out as he approaches his 80th birthday.
Edochie made the remarks during his appearance on Curiosity Made Me Ask, hosted by Is Bae U.
The veteran actor, who is only a few months away from turning 80, said he believes he has lived a good life and remains thankful to God.
“I have a few months to 80. And I think I’ve done well so far and I thank God for it,” he said.
The conversation also touched on whether Edochie understands the Yoruba language.
When asked if words spoken to him in Yoruba could offend him, the actor explained that he would not be affected because he does not understand the language.
“If you say it in Yoruba, I don’t know what you’re saying. It has no influence on me,” he said.
When the host pointed out that the programme could simply add subtitles to whatever was said, Edochie appeared unfazed and dismissed the concern.
The veteran actor then returned to his age, saying he was thankful for reaching the stage of life he is now in.
His comments offered a brief look at how Edochie views his journey as he gets closer to 80.
