Veteran Ghanaian artist Reggie Rockstone has said that his choice to cease celebrating birthdays was informed by his outlook on life and death.
On April 23, 2025, Reggie told JoyPrime that he doesn’t feel the need to set aside a certain day to measure his age or predict death because he celebrates life every day.
“Since I think I should have a calendar before my checkout time because we are all going to go one day, I no longer celebrate birthdays or attend funerals.
Since it’s my birthday every day, I give gratitude to God every morning.
I stopped celebrating my birthday five years ago. I always announce it, but they don’t take me seriously. They always wish me a happy birthday.
But I have stopped doing the parties,” he said.
