“I Was Paralysed By A State Van, But The State Never Helped Me” – Stonebwoy Recounts His Accident Days

In a new interview, Stonebwoy revealed that the accident that rendered him incapacitated was caused by a state car, but that he was left to his fate.

The Dancehall artiste, who is one of Ghana’s most relevant and consistent artists with multiple local and international honors to his name, revealed that the tragic tragedy occurred when he was 13 years old and was traveling to Ashaiman with his father and sisters after visiting his uncle in Accra.

“I recall my mother preparing waakye, which I intended to eat after a football match we had scheduled, but I never did. On our trip back from Accra, an accident was caused by a police van. Stonebwoy told Rev Erskine on Y107.

He said that recovering from the injury was difficult, but that “the state did nothing to support me.”

Stonebwoy had to lie on his back for two months after winning a visa lottery and prepared to come to the United States. “At Korle Bu’s accident ward, I was the youngest and smallest. My mother had to sleep on the floor of Korle Bu for six months while I was in the hospital.

Stonebwoy threw in his two cents. “My mother was doing everything she could to make sure I was okay, and my siblings were also helpful. It wasn’t easy for me as a hyperactive little child to accept the fact that I couldn’t run anymore, and I faced a lot of scorn as a result.
