In an interview with Cape Coast-based Property FM’s Amansan Krakye, Ghanaian rapper and musician Kofi Kinaata boasted of having the most accepting fan following in the nation, a claim that is not even up for debate.
He acknowledged that his followers are accepting of the various musical genres he offers.
“My fans for all these years have made themselves some kind of people that are very open-minded and not the primitive type or kind of people,” the singer claimed.
They are quite open-minded because, as he noted, “they are not people who think that, as for us, this is the kind of stuff we have become used to in one particular way of doing things.”
My fans have grown to accept whatever song I release because I’ve taught them to be accepting and aware that we may make music in various genres or ways.
We don’t want to be confined in what we do, so we should take a broad view of the types of followers we’re getting, so they have to be open to enjoy the creative piece that I drop.
“Now that our fan base has gotten so big and is made up of people from all different backgrounds, we can’t stick to a particular one-way line of making music, so we have to serve everyone to get a little bit of what they want,” Kinaata said in closing.
