“I’ve Never Been Awarded in My Career” – Mzbel Shockingly Reveals

During a recent episode of Showbiz A-Z with Kwame Dadzie on Joy FM, renowned Ghanaian hiplife musician Mzbel talked about her experiences of never winning an award despite having a significant presence in the music business for 20 years.

One of the most well-known female artists of her time was Mzbel, who gained notoriety in 2004 with her first album, Awoso Me. In Ghana as well as other countries, her music became quite popular. She feels her achievements have not been adequately recognized in Ghana, even though she is grateful for the praise she has gotten from these nations.

The “16 Years” hitmaker highlighted her dissatisfaction with the lack of industry acknowledgment, especially the fact that she had never won an award in her 20-year career in music.

“In my 20 years in the industry, I have never won an award,”
she said.

Looking back on her professional path, Mzbel acknowledged that she would prioritize strategic career growth and branding if she could start over.

“I’m not placing blame on anyone.

It’s the branding, I believe. I would work more on my branding if I were starting in the music industry. The branding was poorly constructed. I was just released without any appropriate marking. I would say anything on the radio, dress as I wanted, and go places I shouldn’t,”
she said.
