Kweku Flick Reveals How He Outmaneuvered A Scammer At Adum PZ

A shocking story of phone fraud and his daring act of retaliation from his adolescent years has been shared by Ghanaian artist Kweku Flick.
Actress and host Emelia Brobbey interviewed Kweku Flick about the experience on the Okukuseku Talk Show. In his last year of junior high school (JHS 3), he remembered being conned by a con artist in the busy Adum PZ neighborhood of Kumasi.
Flick claims that he was making his first shoe purchase at Adum PZ when a man approached him with what seemed to be an alluring phone offer.
“I was contacted by someone who tried to sell me a phone, saying that he was in a rush and that I should buy it right away. He recalled, “I exchanged my phone and some of my school fees that I had on me.”
“To his dismay, when he eventually opened the package, he discovered he had been deceived.”
“By the time I finally opened the package, it was floor tiles that had been glued together that I was holding,” he stated.
Desperate to get revenge, Flick went back to the same spot in the hopes of facing the con artist or apprehending another.
“I spotted another guy doing the same thing. He approached me and told me the same story, but this time I was prepared, so I expressed interest in buying the phone and asked him to tell me the PIN to the phone so I could unlock it and go through it,” he said.
As soon as he got the phone, Flick went to get assistance.
“I saw an older man approaching and ran to him crying that the seller was a thief trying to steal my phone,” he said.
Flick easily unlocked the phone when the guy requested him to show his ownership. The suspected scammer was detained by the elder man, which provided Flick with the ideal opportunity to flee.
“I did, and as I rushed, the man restrained the vendor. He laughed as he stated, “They chased me from Adum PZ to the Kumasi Cultural Centre, where I managed to evade them.”
