Ghanaian rapper M.anifest says while the possibility of engaging in a full rap battle remains open, it would take a lot to draw him into such an encounter at this stage of his career.
Speaking in an interview with Kafui Dey, the rapper explained that although he remains passionate and sharp with his lyricism, age and experience have influenced the roles he now plays within the music industry.
“It will take a lot for somebody to draw me into a full-on rap engagement. There is still a possibility, though it might just look a little different,” he said.
M.anifest noted that artists from his generation have evolved over the years, taking on new responsibilities while maintaining their creative edge.
“We are older now, but one is still fierce with the pen. We have taken on different roles,” he stated.
He suggested that competition in music no longer has to be expressed only through traditional rap confrontations, as artists now explore different ways of showcasing their creativity and influence.
The rapper maintained that while his approach may have changed, his commitment to lyricism and the craft of rap remains strong.
