Afrobeat artist Davido has disclosed that, despite his fame, his father still provides for him financially, calling himself his “baby.”

In the United States, the Nigerian superstar, who has four days until the release of his fifth studio album, “5ive,” has been attending several media appearances.

Speaking on New York’s Power 105, Davido disclosed that his father had once gone to see him play at Atlanta’s State Farm Arena, complimented him on his performance the following day, and then handed him $300,000 as a token of support and gratitude.


“My father still gives me money because I’m his baby.

He came to my show at State Farm Arena in Atlanta, called me the next day, and said, “Amazing show, good job.” Then he gave me 0,000, he said.
