According to well-known Nigerian musician Divine Ikubor, better known by his stage name Rema, parents hardly ever discipline kids who give money to the household.
Rema talked to content creator Enzo and urged him to get a tattoo like him.
Enzo clarified, though, that his mother would not approve, citing the days she silenced him after he braided his hair.
Enzo: “My mom won’t let me get a tattoo. The time I did braids, she didn’t talk to me for days. It was bad.”
Rema responded by advising Enzo to concentrate on being financially successful, implying that parental disapproval would decrease if he started to make a substantial contribution to the family’s income.
“Don’t worry, you just need to hustle a little bit more. Wait till you cash out big. Nigerian parents don’t advise breadwinners,” he said with a smirk on his face.
