Sonnie Badu is facing backlash from social media after he posted a video offering to give away $300.
This amount is the same that Mzbel, a singer, alleges he owes her.
Instead of settling his debt with Mzbel, Badu displayed his wealth, showing he could easily spend more than $300 whenever he wanted.
In his video, he asked followers to identify widows, gifted but financially struggling students, and individuals with health issues who need financial help.
He promised $300 to those in compelling situations, claiming he was inspired by a divine message.
This video was released soon after Mzbel accused the gospel singer of owing her more than $300 for over 8 years.
Despite her repeated attempts to reclaim the money, Badu has not responded.
People online criticized Badu for being petty and not a true representative of his faith.
“What kind of pettiness is this? See someone that says God is using him smh,” one netizen wrote.
Another said: “That’s not it badu! Pay the woman her money and stop this silliness!!”
