Shatta Wale calls for peace with Sarkodie and Stonebwoy

Ghanaian dancehall artiste Shatta Wale has called for unity and peace among Ghanaian musicians, urging an end to long standing rivalry and tension in the industry.
Speaking to EIB Digital, Shatta Wale said he has no personal issues with fellow artistes Stonebwoy, Sarkodie, and Medikal, and believes it is time for collaboration instead of conflict.
“I don’t have any problem with any artiste. Stonebwoy is like a brother to me. Same as Sarkodie. I’ve had issues with Sarkodie and now we’re talking. I’m even going to London, he’s waiting for me,” he said.
He explained that constant competition and hostility in the industry create an unhealthy environment for artistes and slow down progress in Ghana’s music business.
“I feel it’s about education around what we are doing. I believe I have a changed mindset because I want to build. So if he also wants to build, we should come together and build,” Shatta Wale stated.
Shatta Wale added that his long term vision is to see top Ghanaian artistes travelling, performing, and representing the country together on international platforms.
“Once upon a time, it should be me, Sarkodie, Stonebwoy, and Medikal in a jet flying to go and do a show. It shouldn’t be only me,” he said.
On May 27, 2026, Shatta Wale flew from Accra to London on a private jet ahead of promotional activities and preparations for his Shatta Fest UK concert scheduled for August 1, 2026.
