Black Stars defender Jonas Adjetey has opened up about the personal struggles he faced growing up, revealing that his journey to professional football was far from easy.
The Ghana international disclosed that he was raised by a single mother, a circumstance he says made his path to success particularly challenging.
“My football journey was a bit difficult because I was raised by a single parent,” Adjetey told Beyond The Whistle.
The defender also revealed that despite his mother’s background in sports, she initially opposed his ambition of becoming a professional footballer.
“Although my mother was an athlete, she didn’t want me to become a footballer,” he added.
