Ghanaian media personality Klastes GH has raised an argument on his official Facebook page with the argument being that fast-rising Ghanaian rapper Kweku Smoke, who has been tipped to win this year’s Artiste of the Year at the TGMAs, is not better than Mawuli Youngod of AMG fame.

According to Klastes, if everything were equal- same industry push, same marketing, and the same level of attention…Younggod could easily match up to Smoke; what Mawuli lacked was exposure.

Mawuli Younggod and Kweku Smoke are two names that command attention. Both artists bring raw energy, unique flows, and street credibility to the game. While Kweku Smoke has enjoyed more mainstream visibility, Younggod has consistently proven that he has what it takes to compete at the highest level.

If everything were equal…same industry push, same marketing, and the same level of attention…Younggod could easily match up to Smoke. His versatility, lyricism, and ability to adapt to different sounds make him just as capable. The difference is exposure, not talent.

Make a deliberate effort to listen to any of Younggod’s projects and see if he isn’t just as capable.
