“Volta Fans Are Loyal; Big Artistes May Need Homegrown Artistes To Sell Their Shows In The Volta Region” – Agbeshie

Ghanaian artist Agbeshie claimed in an interview with Andy Dosty on Hitz FM that the Volta Region is frequently overlooked in Ghana’s entertainment and music marketing industry.

The leader of Ewe Gang claims that the majority of Ghana’s famous musicians frequently overlook the area when marketing their songs.

Despite the region’s passion for music, Agbeshie pointed out that it has mostly been ignored when it comes to significant promotional efforts by well-known performers.

“In terms of entertainment, the Volta Region has been a little isolated throughout time. But the area has produced its own celebrities. “I always come here to promote my songs whenever I release them,” he remarked.

The rapper claimed that whenever he releases a new project, he (Agbeshie) purposefully travels as far as Takoradi to promote his song, in contrast to the “big artistes” who only concentrate on Accra and Kumasi.

“I’ve seen that a lot of well-known performers don’t visit the Volta Region to promote themselves. Since I know there are ewes living in Takoradi, I even went there to promote my song the last time I checked,” he continued.

Additionally, he emphasized that the Volta audience’s interactions with the “big artists” when they attend a performance have been impacted by their lack of direct contact.

He claims that the feeling of isolation has motivated residents to support local artists who come to the area and represent it.

He went on to say that the region’s allegiance is so great that, unless an indigenous musician is booked to perform, even the greatest names in Ghana’s music business may not be warmly accepted in the Volta Region.
