“Yaa Pono Helped Me To Record My First Song” – Black Sherif Reveals

Black Sherif, the young Ghanaian spectacular artist, has claimed that prominent Ghanaian rapper Yaa Pono was the first person to assist him in recording his first song.
After completing his second cycle of schooling at Kumasi Academy (KUMACA), the young Hiplife artist, known by his stage name Blacko, released a freestyle titled “Cry For Me” in June 2019, which went popular on social media.
He said that Ghanaian teenage comedian Ajeezy posted the freestyle on his Facebook page and that the positive reaction he received motivated him to compose additional songs.
Yaa Pono then told Ajeezy about him and advised him to come to Accra with him (Black Sherif).
Blako went on to say that Yaa Pono got him to Adom FM, Multimedia’s top Akan radio station, for his first radio interview, and that Ajeezy escorted him to Yaa Pono’s residence to record straight after the program.
He said that Yaa Pono and his producer Unda Beatz were there waiting for him when he arrived and that they had already produced the song “Cry For Me.”
The ‘Second Sermon’ hitmaker disclosed to Andy Doisty on the ‘Day Break Hitz’ morning program on Accra-based Hitz FM that fans can anticipate something special from him and Yaa Pono.
If it hadn’t been for music, Black Sherif would have become a second-hand car tyres salesman. He used to operate his father’s automobile tire store in Ghana before resigning to focus solely on music, according to him.
