You are so ugly, don’t come back – Nana Aba Anamoah recalls being sacked from Metro TV on first day of work

Media personality Nana Aba Anamoah has shared details of her first television experience, describing how it ended abruptly after just one appearance.
Speaking in a podcast conversation with Richie Mensah, she revealed that her debut at Metro TV did not go as planned.
“I worked at Metro TV for just one day. I went on the screen for one day,” she said.
According to her, the live appearance was challenging, especially as it was her first time on television without proper guidance.
“It was a disaster because my makeup was shambolic, my hair was dishevelled, and I had no idea what I was doing,” she explained.
After the broadcast, she and a colleague were summoned by management. “We were called into the MD’s office, and he was angry. He said we had desecrated his channel and told us not to come back again,” she recounted.
She added that the criticism became personal. “He pointed at me and said, ‘You are so ugly… I don’t want you on my channel again.’”
Despite the experience, she said the comment did not affect her confidence. “I have a mirror at home, I have parents, I have siblings. I had never been described as ugly before,” she noted.
