“You Can Continue Paying E-Levy If You Didn’t Want It Scrapped” – Criss Waddle

Yesterday, President John Dramani Mahama assented to a set of amended bills of Parliament, effectively abolishing the Electronic Transfer Levy (E-Levy), the betting tax, and the emissions tax, among other related bills.

Some Ghanaians, however, think the tax helped us, and the government should have maintained it rather than abolishing it.

Ghanaian musician and businessman Criss Waddle, however, took to his official X (formerly Twitter) page to comment on the scrapping of the E-Levy, suggesting that those who opposed its removal could voluntarily continue paying out of love.

Taking to X, Waddle wrote:

At this point those that constantly claimed they didn’t want the E-levy to be scrapped can contact the MTN office to continue paying for it out of Love. This GV has done his part by listening to the Cry of the majority of Ghanaians
