Appointments Committee Of Parliament Has Summoned Oliver Barker-Vormawor For Defamation

Activist Oliver Barker-Vormawor has been called by the Appointments Committee of Parliament to confirm claims that its members seek payment from applicants before their screening.

Widespread discussion has been triggered by the allegations, which first appeared on Tuesday, January 28, before Dr.

Omane Boamah, the designated defense minister, was vetted.

In response to the accusations, First Deputy Speaker of Parliament and Committee Chairman Bernard Ahiafor vehemently rejected any such behavior.

“Before vetting nominees, neither I, Bernard Ahiafor, the Chairman of the Committee and First Deputy Speaker of Parliament, nor the committee members demand money from them,” he said.

To address the issue, Ahiafor has directed the Clerk of the Committee to formally invite Barker-Vormawor to present evidence supporting his claims.

“I will therefore demand the clerk of the committee to invite Oliver Barker-Vormawor to appear before the committee to provide evidence of the allegations,” he emphasized.

Meanwhile, here’s what Oliver Barker-Vormawor wrote that has landed him in trouble:
