Journalist Kofi Adomah Nwanwani is at the centre of a new controversy after a young man claimed that the youth of Dormaa planned the incident in which he was shot in the eye.

The young man claimed that the alleged act was a response to remarks Kofi made in an interview two years ago that were said to be disrespectful to the people of Dormaa.

The young man’s accusations are supported by a video that was posted on TikTok two years ago in which a woman expressed her dissatisfaction with Kofi Adomah.

Kofi was accused of being biased and disrespectful to the Dormaa community in the video which allegedly surfaced during an argument between the Ashanti and Dormaa people.

The accuser claims that tensions had been building since the interview and that some Dormaa youth members had promised to teach Kofi Adomah a lesson for what they saw as an unjust portrayal of their opinions during the conflict.

Social media users have responded differently to these claims which have not yet been verified.

While some have expressed sympathy for Kofi Adomah and denounced any planned actions against him others think that his previous remarks may have fueled the alleged animosity.

One commenter stated, “Even if he said something wrong, it doesn’t justify any planned retaliation. We need to settle matters peacefully, not through confrontation.” Another added, “Journalists must learn to stay neutral. Words can be powerful, especially when addressing community issues.”
