“LGBTQ+ Is Unaccepted To My Values And Ethics” – Haruna Iddrisu

The Education Minister-Designate, Haruna Iddrisu, has been adamantly against LGBTQ+ activities, claiming that they go against his own morals and ethics.
He underlined how crucial it is to preserve Ghana’s moral and cultural values.
On Tuesday, January 14, 2025, in Accra, President John Dramani Mahama met with the Catholic Bishops’ Conference and suggested a fresh strategy for resolving the current controversy around the Anti-LGBTQ+ law.
Instead of being a private member’s bill, he recommended that the measure be filed as a government-sponsored effort.
Government sponsorship, according to President Mahama, would give the law more credibility and increase the likelihood that it would pass Parliament.
“It’s a cultural wrong; with my religion as a Muslim, you know where I stand on this matter,” Haruna Iddrisu said during her January 20 appearance before the Appointments Committee of Parliament. It goes against my Muslim beliefs and ideals.
“I don’t want to think that many Ghanaian parents would want their kids to be trained in a way that is inconsistent with the way you and I were raised as Ghanaians,” he added. that women are able to relate to women and men to men.
“As a nation, we have established our social and cultural norms, and we should expect everyone to uphold them.
