Kwaito star Mduduzi “Mandoza” Tshabalala will be laid to rest on Saturday. The “Nkalakatha” hit maker died on Sunday after a battle with cancer.
Speaking at a press briefing at Jabulani theatre in Soweto, his uncle Mziwakhe Tshabalala thanked the nation for the support it has been giving the family.
He says he didn’t realize how important South Africans considered Mandoza until his death.
Mziwakhe Tshabalala says although this is a sad time for the family, they have accepted that Mandoza is gone.
He says the memorial service for the Kwaito star will be held on Wednesday and the funeral on Saturday.

They are yet to decide on the venue, as it has to be large enough to accommodate all those who loved him and his music.
Meanwhile, his former Chiskop band mate, General has recalled how Mandoza’s music moved audiences across colour lines and national borders.
He says it was amazing to see Mandoza’s music being received positively in Europe, China and all of Africa
