Vinicius Jr demands to be paid more than Kylian Mbappe at Real Madrid

Vinicius Junior is in contract talks with Real Madrid and is asking for a salary higher than Kylian Mbappe’s €15 million per year.
Earlier, he turned down a contract extension from Real Madrid, hoping his continued strong performance would secure a better deal.
Real Madrid started negotiations in 2025 after learning about his interest from Saudi Arabia, despite initially planning to wait until the season ended.
A key sticking point is Vinicius’ demand for a salary greater than Mbappe’s.
He currently earns a similar amount, but his team argues he deserves a significant raise due to his impact on the field.
They are pushing for him to make more than €25 million per year. Real Madrid needs to compete with Saudi Arabia’s massive offer, reportedly €1 billion over five years.
Real Madrid is reluctant to meet these demands, increasing the likelihood of Vinicius moving to Saudi Arabia.
He is unwilling to accept less than €20 million a year, adding complexity to the negotiations.
While the financial offer from Saudi Arabia is tempting, Vinicius is also considering the competitiveness of the Saudi Pro League.
Moreover, he has been offered a special ambassador role for the 2034 FIFA World Cup, which will be hosted in Saudi Arabia.
