“You Are Not A Woman If You Have Never Been Called An Ashawo” – Bridget Otoo
Bridget Otoo, the Ghanaian television personality, believes that every woman must first be referred to as “ashawo” (a prostitute) before being recognized as a lady. She made the statement after trolls on Twitter used the slur against her recently.
According to her, every woman who is particularly loud should be labeled a prostitute. That lady, on the other hand, maybe doing something wrong.
“Everything needs to be sexed up for a woman.” If you're a woman and you've never been called ‘ashawo,' you're not a woman, I usually say. “You're obviously doing things wrong if a woman who is loud hasn't been called ashawo,” she remarked.
“This is their first attempt. I believe they are simply feeling emasculated. They think to themselves, “How dare she protect herself?”
Bridget Otoo was interviewed on Metro TV's Good Evening Ghana, where she attempted to explain why she, Nana Aba Anamoah, and Serwaa Amihere insulted a young journalist who taunted them.
Bridget claims that what they did to the blogger was only for the sake of self-defense and that there was nothing improper with it.
She disagrees with some Ghanaians who claim to have resolved personal concerns via a professional platform.
Bridget feels they would be unable to locate the blogger in order to interview him about his actions.
She goes on to say that they confronted the blogger after he had done his session. It doesn't work the other way around.
