Hutchinson, a lawyer, businessman, and politician from the United States, presided as Arkansas' 46th governor from 2015 until 2023.

He was a Republican and served as the U.S. attorney for the Western District of Arkansas, which includes Fort Smith, from 1982 to 1985, as well as the 3rd congressional district of Arkansas from 1997 to 2001, as well as the first undersecretary for border and transportation security at the U.S. Department of Homeland Security from 2003 to 2005.

Hutchinson, a Republican, was the outgoing state attorney general Michael Beebe's opponent in the 2006 race for governor of Arkansas.
