“Sharpen Your Lyrics If You Really Want To Battle Sarkodie” – Reggie Rockstone
Reggie Rockstone, the veteran Ghanaian rapper and Hiplife pioneer, has issued a warning to new and rising musicians that want to compete with Sarkodie.
Reggie spoke about his hard-hitting “11:11” hip-hop song in an interview with Y105.7 FM, where he acknowledged his satisfaction and accomplishment following the song's release, which includes Sarkodie.
Before you enter the ring with Sarkodie, make sure your sword is sharp. Because I made it through, this song is one of my greatest accomplishments. Nobody came up to me and told me he killed me because of my music. In my fifties, with my grey beard, I walked in there and did my own thing.
Every time I hear this song, I feel so proud of myself, and hearing DJ Ganj say how much he admires it has just added to my confidence. Ghanaians pretend they haven't heard or seen this song.
He explained how he came up with the title of his song, “11:11,” saying that the phrase was inspired by his and his daughter's birthdates and means a lot to him.
“I was born on April 11th, and my daughter was born on April 11th, as well.” As a result, 11:11 is a mystical number combination, “he explained.
