Dzodze Deza Festival 2025 to Celebrate Oil Palm Industry and Cultural Heritage

Dzodze, a historic town the Ketu North Municipality of the Volta Region is preparing to host the Deza Festival 2025, a ten-day celebration of tradition, culture, health, sports, and entertainment.
The 2025 edition of the Deza Festival, themed “Oil Palm Odyssey: Exploring the Economic Value of the Oil Palm for Industrialization and Jobs in Ketu North.”
The festival, scheduled for October 17 to 27, will feature a blend of traditional, cultural, health, and entertainment activities that reflect the rich heritage of the people of Dzodze, bringing together locals, visitors, and dignitaries from across the country and beyond.
Activities begin on October 17 with traditional and Muslim prayers, followed in the evening by Kpalongo Night at Dzesime. The next day, October 18, features a town-wide cleanup exercise and a vibrant street carnival.
On Sunday, October 19, health and spirituality take the spotlight with a health walk, Christian prayers, and a gospel rock show at Gilga Assembly International.
From October 20 to 22, the focus shifts to sports and cultural showcases. Highlights include traditional indigenous drumming by groups of priests, preliminary soccer matches, health talks, football gala finals at Mite Park, and a marathon race.
The much-anticipated Culture Couture Fest and Dzodze Lalo Launch at Feel De Mood will add a fashionable twist to the celebrations.
October 23 will thrill audiences with Dzodze Strongest, a competition of physical endurance, followed by an educational radio talk.
On October 24, the town comes alive with a funky float through the principal streets and the Mama Deza 2025 pageant at A-Plaza Hotel.
The climax arrives on October 25 with the grand durbar at Deza Durbar Grounds, where chiefs, elders, and citizens unite in celebration.

Distinguished dignitaries including Torgbui Dzoku V, Paramount Chief And President Of Dzodze Traditional Council, Torgbui Akamu V From Anlo Afiadenyigba, Torgbui Ege IV, Dzodze Fiagbedu (Cpc Chairman), Hon. Edem Agbana – Mp For Ketu North, Hon. Rev. Martins Amenaki – Ketu North Mce, Lawyer Joan Selasi Ahiawordor – Deputy Ceo Of Neip, Hon. Governs Kwame Agbodza – Minister Of Roads, Hon. Dzifa Abla Gomashie – Minister Of Tourism, Eric Agbe-Carbonu – President Of Nagrat, H.E. Tanko Atokple – Volta Regional Representative Of Council Of State, Hon. Eric Opoku – Minister For Agriculture will grace the occasion.
Later in the evening, an artists’ night at Dzesime promises nonstop entertainment.
The festival closes on October 26 with a thanksgiving church service and open entertainment at event centers.
