Ghanaian rapper and VGMA boss, Denning Edem Hotor, better known as Edem (formerly Ayigbe Edem) has advised his colleagues to adapt to showing up for awards show.
It has been the behavior of Ghanaian artists to not show up for awards shows they have been nominated for, which makes somebody always come and receive award plaques on their behalf when they win.
He made this submission on his official Twitter page and however media personality, Abeiku Santana has also added his voice condemning artists who do not show up at award shows.
According to him, certain Ghanaian musicians who were nominated in various categories at the 3Music Music Awards and were formally told about the event but failed or refused to attend were uncultured.
This came when Abeiku Santana praised the 3Music Awards as being superior to the just-concluded Oscars in Hollywood.
Abeiku went on to say that there would come a day when musicians would beg for tickets only to attend the 3Music awards presentation, so they must show the platform the respect it deserves by honoring their invitations, especially if they are nominated for awards.
