I have a mind of my own – Okyeame Kwame explains why he has no specific church

Rapper Okyeame Kwame has opened up about his personal beliefs and spiritual journey, describing himself as a “cultural Christian” during an interview on Channel One TV.
Speaking candidly about religion, the award-winning musician explained that while he embraces many of the teachings of Christianity, he does not tie himself to one denomination or church.
“I’m a cultural Christian,” he said. Expanding on what he meant, Okyeame Kwame noted that he strongly identifies with the principles of kindness, empathy and reciprocity.
“Which means I accept the principles of do unto others what you want others to do. Like 90%, I agree with everything that Christ said. Maybe 95%. A few things I disagree with.”
The rapper also revealed that he occasionally attends different places of worship, depending on what resonates with him at the time.
According to him, he recently attended the Jehovah’s Witnesses Memorial and also sometimes worships at Reverend Albert Ocran’s church, where he goes to listen to practical teachings.
“Last week, I went to the Jehovah’s Witnesses Memorial in the evening. We went to observe the memorial of the Jehovah’s Witnesses,” he said.
He added, “Sometimes I go to Reverend Okran’s church. I love to go and listen to him. He has a lot of practical wisdom.”
Okyeame Kwame stressed that his respect extends beyond Christianity alone, saying he sees value in different faith traditions.
“I think there’s a lot of good in all religions. I have a lot of respect for all religions. But I also have a mind of my own.”
