FIFA president responds after being asked to let Drake perform at World Cup final as payback for Kendrick Lamar’s Super Bowl show (Video)
FIFA President Gianni Infantino is thinking about having Canadian rapper Drake perform at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
In a conversation with host Rosanna Scotto, the idea was brought up that Drake could be the main act for the World Cup Halftime Show.
This suggestion came up because of the ongoing rivalry between Drake and Kendrick Lamar, who had previously performed at Super Bowl LIX.
“I have a great idea for you for the halftime,” Scotto said to Infantino.
“Drake. Because you were at the Super Bowl—Kendrick Lamar dissed him at the Super Bowl.”
Infantino, intrigued, responded, “So we can create a bit of a rivalry?”
“Yes,” Scotto replied enthusiastically.
“That’s a good idea,” Infantino said.
