Man posing as NBA player steals $770,000 worth of jewelry and swallows it during arrest (VIDEO)

A man suspected of stealing swallowed two pairs of diamond earrings during his arrest on a Florida Panhandle highway.
This forced the police to wait patiently to retrieve the Tiffany & Co. jewelry, valued at nearly $770,000.
An X-ray of his body confirmed the presence of the earrings.
They showed up as a bright white shape against the darker background of his digestive system.
“These foreign objects are suspected to be the Tiffany & Co earrings taken in the robbery but will need to be collected … after they are passed,” the department’s arrest report said.
Handwriting on an order of commitment document filed Monday, March 3, said “outside medical,” suggesting he was at a medical facility.
When the theft occurred, the man allegedly informed Tiffany employees that he was looking to buy diamond earrings and a diamond ring for an Orlando Magic basketball player.
A sales worker got injured while trying to stop the thief, but they successfully knocked a diamond ring, valued at $587,000, out of his hands.
Police used the shopping mall’s security cameras to get the car’s license plate number. They believe the suspect was heading back to Texas.
